Game "kicks back out" ???
« on: July 19, 2003, 12:28:00 pm »
I have a question that has been bugging me for a while. Why do some of my games kick back to the main GUI in mame32 instead of running normally like most of the others? Is there a way to fix them?

Not sure which games you are running but, It may just be
that your roms for that game is not complete or has bad crc's or
something like that.  It also could just be a game that really doesn't
work in mame totally yet.  Some 'supported' games don't really
work at all yet, they may be preliminary.

Also, try a different mame version. In .68 (or .69, or whatever it was I had recently), all the 88-92 Namco games just dumped me right back to the desktop. Upgrading fixed that.

You will usually get a warning when MAME starts if it is likely to kick out.

Enable game warnings and try a few problem games to check.

I know how to do it in commandline MAME, but I guess it must be in a properties/setup option in MAME32 - anyone?
