hey, i have a gamepad that plugs into the gameport on my old pc. i wanna know if it can be used in mame and how, because i cannot get it to recognize it. thanx in advance

is joystick set to auto in you rmame.ini?

What operating system?

If in DOS, I know my gameport wouldn't function until I loaded the dos sound drivers.

If in windows make sure the joystick applet in control panel sees the joystick.
