WG 9200 ROCKS
« on: February 11, 2003, 12:30:52 pm »
;D I just completed my new mame cabinet and I purchased a Wells Gardner D9200 monitor and all I can say is that it is better than I imagined. I am running Mame32 with a TNT2 video card. I was originally going to put a tv in the cab, but after it was hooked up the picture looked like ass in windows. The games were ok at best, but after seeing what a real monitor can do I will never build another cabinet without one. I am running Windows ME at 640X480 and the text looks very good, even small stuff. The monitor will do 800X600, I found this resolution not to look as good though. I would highly reccomend this monitor to anyone who plans on building a cabinet. I did have one problem though, it took me almost 2 weeks to get my monitor from American gaming. It seems there was some paperwork screwup from American gaming to Wells Gardner, and the folks at Wells Gardner were kinda jerks to me on the phone. Luckily the guy from American gaming got his act together and I finaly got the monitor.

How about PC games? :)  Let us know!! :)

This is the monitor I plan on getting but not for several months (maybe with my tax return!)

That's the monitor I used on my first project(see link).  As Timp said earlier - it simply rocks.  You cannot beat it.  Daphne looks Amazing, PC games look incredible for just being 800x600.  Some even look better at 640x480.  I tested with HalfLife and renegade.  And the nes games i played on it looked pretty decent, too.

The thing is huge and looks great behind happs 27"monitor bezel. totally recommended.  ;)

This is OT, but I put it here because of previous post:
Right now I've got a home-made bezel.  It could look better.  Does anyone have a link to the happs 27" monitor bezel?

I've looked around at their site, but I can never tell what I'm really looking at.
