"Kick" display help needed
« on: November 14, 2004, 04:19:13 pm »
My Kick game all of a sudden doesn't display correctly.  It is too big for the screen and is off to the right side....I've tried the .ini settings but I can't get anything to work...

The only thing I changed recently was from Mame .88 to .86 because I didnt like the validity check in .88..

what am I missing here?

I had the same problem with Toobin' but I fixed that in the .ini....I then did a  "save as" figuring this would cure Kick......but it didnt work  ???

Why not use MAME v0.88 and just disable validitychecks? ;)

But yes an ini file specifying a suitable resolution should work.  My kick.ini says:

resolution 512x512

Substitute 512x512 for whatever res. you want to run it at...

Thanks Wahman...that did the trick...

As to why I switched from .88...

don't you need to turn off validity checks from the source code?

I don't know how to compile...

Are you saying you can turn off validity checks from an .ini?

Yes, mame.ini.  Update it with mame -cc and set skip_validitychecks 1.
