Okay, got one of those arcade games I faintly remember, but can't remember the name.

I'm thinking early-to-mid 90s, polygonal 3D tank-like thingy (but you moved fairly fast) controlled with two trigger sticks.

Cyber Sled?  1993 head-to-head future tank warfare  :)

edit: according to KLOV this game had a single player sequel in 1994 called Cyber Commando.  Check out www.klov.com and see if it looks familiar.

Alas, looks like the MAME emulation still has a ways to go.  :'(
