Is there a new home for Twisty's Samples?
« on: April 07, 2004, 12:16:51 pm »
Hey, just wondering if there's a new home or still active mirror of Twisty's samples and audio stuff? I'm using NoName now and finding my previous samples are not working, and it seems everyone's pointing me to the set from fraggersxtreme.com - which has been gone for a while...

can anyone put them up even temporarily? I can post them to the usenet boards if I get the set.

TIA

I know, I switched the code over, than the site went down. If anyone has the files, contact me and I'll host them. If they aren't found soon, I may just switch back to the official samples.

I'll drop a query on a couple other message boards as well - someone we both "know" must have them, as there have been several questions about them over the last 5 months or so... heck, I thought I had them, I remember downloading them, but so far the disk hasn't materialized... :::looking thru stacks of CDs 1000 disks high::: :P

OT, but since I know I haven't said this before, NoName is one awesome program!

I'm pretty sure they'll be back.  I had my pages at www.fraggersxtreme.com and they will be moving to www.mameworld - something or other - not sure exactly when though, but soon.

You could also E-mail Twisty - the bottom link in the left column of www.mameworld.net

Thanks, I've got some cool things planned for it, not sure when they'll make it in though.

And I'll fire an e-mail off to Twisty and see if I can figure out what the deal is.

Well I got off an e-mail to Twisty, he told me pretty much that the files are coming back under the mameworld forums banner, but he can't say when as it's not in his hands...  he did send me the Donkey Kong & Donkey Kong Jr. samples, and he said he could try to send me any of the others that are different from the main set - but I'm not sure which ones to ask for, as those were the only two games I knew the samples were not working for. So I guess it's all about waiting until they can get them up on the mameworld site.   :'(

Would you mind forwarding those samples to noname@kitsunet.org so I can host them temporarily?
