Hi,
I have a dilemma? I want to buy a WG D9200 for my arcade machine. However, because I live in Belgium (Europe), the shipping costs will be too high. So, I searched for another arcade monitor: the Hantarex Polo. There is a dealer in my region, so that there are no shipping costs. Is there anyone who has such a monitor? Is it a good monitor or not? Do I need additional hardware in order to connect a Hantarex Polo to a PC?
Thanks in advance.
Hi neighbour, I'm in the Netherlands. I purchased an Hantarex Polostar as well. I could not find a dealership for WG locally. Even so, the D9200 costs EUR 150 more even if you don't take shipping from the US into account.
It's an excellent monitor. You don't need any other hardware to connect it to PC. Although you probably will want an videocard that can do 15kHz and 25kHz modes. Myself, I use an ATI Rage based Xpert98 card.
There are two inputs on the monitor:
- regular VGA 15-pin D-connector (0.7V RGB level)
- 6-pin molex connector (1~4V RGB level) for a JAMMA harnass.
Some advice: when I bought it, the monitor did not include the extension cable for the monitor controls. Without the extension cable, the controls are stationary behind the tube. This makes sense for single game arcade operation, but for home use you want the controls in a place where you can view the screen while making adjustments.
