Mame Questions
« on: December 11, 2003, 03:08:06 pm »
Remember, I'm a newbie....

Are the any "Mame for Dummies" sites out there that you can point me to?   Also, what kind of configurations are you using for MAME?  I have the standard Mame32 gui and haven't looked into other options.  I'd like to ba able to sort things by type of game:  Shooters, classics, side scrollers, etc.  Is there a way to do this?

Also, is there a way to save your high scores?

There's a software forum for this, but since you're a newbie, and since I check this forum and rarely anywhere else. . .

The best is probably http://www.mameworld.net/easyemu/ as far as a site to walk you through setting up MAME.

I thought MAME32 could do that.  I use command line MAME and EmuLoader and can do this with Favorite Lists and Different users.  I think a fronend called MAMEWAH will do it directly, though and is probably easier to set-up as well.

Sure, download the files from here: http://www.mameworld.net/highscore/, put hiscore.dat in the main MAME folder and the .nv files in the NVRAM folder and you should be set.  EasyEmu probably explains this as well.  Not all the games are supported, but at least 90% of them are.
