Lookin good!
http://www.mame.net/wip0310.html

The next release is what I've been waiting for (I love Tekken). Think you'll need serious PC hardware to play System 11 games ?

I'm so happy, I think I've just shat myself. Ahhh...

Yeah tekken rules, but you guessed it - you will probably need some serious Hardware to run those games in MAME.  In the meantime, you can allready play them w/ Zinc.

Also, the system 11 games have no sound.  If you want to play tekken on your cab,  I would reccommend ePSXe, a playstation emu, w/ Tekken 3.  The playstation version is nearly indistinguisable from the arcade and Tekken 3 is a lot of fun!

Whuhahaha!

Thanks to NoNameMame076u1 (which I've never had the pleasure of trying before), I got Tekken2 up and running.

Just like you said, Octo, there's no sound like in Zinc. But without DirectX enabled it runs  between 18 and 40 FPS, which isn't bad considering. It runs at about 8 FPS with DirectX enabled. I think a little settings tweaking is in order...

I have a working Tekken2 PCB here, but I'm still in the process of getting my PCBs hooked up along-side my Mame PC. Still in the planning stage really.

Other than the 2-d backgound and considerably less polygon characters....  :(

Great conversion, don't get me wrong..... but god do I wait for the day the new zinc is released with Tekken 3 and Tekken Tag support.

I can finally lay my TTT PCB to rest... saving me the hastle of switch between it and my JPAC...  happy days are near! :)

No they aren't. :(  There is little to no information available for the namco system 11 sound chip.  Until info is found there will never be sound for the system 11 games.  the zinc devs (who are also making the mame drivers) say that currently the chance of finding this info is slim to none.

And for the record I agree with you, the ports just aren't the same.  I've said it a thousand times and I'll say it once more.  There is NO SUCH THING as a perfect arcade port, even in this day and age.

Well I honestly have not played much tekken 3 in the arcades, however, I really do feel that the psx version captures the essence of the gameplay.  It may not be perfect but it is still alot of fun to play!

DC Naomi ports (esp. Soul Cabibur) are damn close IMO...
