Custom resoultion for a specific game rom

Is it possible to have a custom config for a specific game? A specific game requires 800x600 to run. (my default is stretch to fit).

I am running Mame 071 Mamewah 094 on Win 98 SE

if you install MAME32 and set the .ini directory to the same directory as your normal command line mame you can right click on the game and pick properties i believe and set it up diffrently for each game and it saves a .ini file in the cfg folder with the name of the rom.ini

i know thats what i do...so looks like mame32 is useful for something.

wait...is it the ini path or the cfg path...i think its ini but if that doesnt work try cfg, but im sure its ini =P

Just make a gamename.ini file.  Then put in it 'resolution 800x600'.  That's it

oh heh ya if you wanna do just resolution you can do that, if you wanna do other settings and your not sure what to manually type in you can use Mame32 to make it easier.

Yep, or you can place it in the 'ini' folder as long as you refer to it in your MAME.INI file (I think it is #'d out by default).
