Bartop Build - Cranked out in 10 days from Scratch
« on: June 28, 2013, 01:49:24 pm »
Had a guy request a bartop build from me, starting off I had 3 weeks to complete.  Deadline was moved up so had to build this thing in 10 days.  Had to do this after my real job, so 7 days of 3am work nights.  Delivered this morning after an all nighter.......

EXHAUSTED.......

That's a great looking build, let alone a build in 10 days. I dig the side art.

I have a 2.5 year old, 11 month old, and one due in December so I definitely have become familiar with projects (mostly multicopter stuff at the moment) into the wee hours of the night.

Just kidding. Looks great, actually.

No offense but if you have the systems/frontend laid out and have built one or two of these, putting one together in this time frame is more woodwork than anything and could be accomplished easily.  Now if you strive to OND perfection ( I need to do this myself .. . not rying to throw stones) it may take a bit longer.

Really?

Let me add a few unknowns.....

The whole machine was laminated, and on your next build you try shoving the guts of an xbox 1 in a tiny bartop shell.  Plus keep in mind this was done after i got off of work.  Has nothing to so with OND perfection he's not on a deadline and has been working on his machine for a few years now.

Dang, now all of a sudden it's easy to build arcades...who would of known...

I crank them out pretty fast, but it is still not "easy".

Even doing the same type of bartop multiple times, there is still variations in how I put them together. This is partly because the laptops are different every-time. But anyways, it is not "easy".

..... that is unless you have a bad ass CNC machine doing the work .....

Nice design and well done for meeting that crazy deadline  :applaud:
I really like the yellow/green combination on the control panel.   It works well with the theme.
