nd help with wei-ya 25" replacement chassis
« on: March 21, 2013, 04:35:20 pm »
I am familiar with all the wei-ya 19" replacements, high impence, low impedence, small neck, large neck.  I have a wells gardner 25" monitor here that needs a new chassis.  I ordered an 825hr chassis, which is supposed to replace 25" monitors, however when i take an impedence reading of the tube i am getting 40, which is high.  this chassis is only for 6-12 ohm.  I dont see another chassis available for high impedence, 25" monitors.  Anyone know what to do here, I am sure Ken Layton will know!

resistance measurements can be misleading .
R U sure 40 ohms is the Hcoil and not the Vert ?

absolutely, the vertical is measuring 1.6, the horizontal 40.  I dont want to plug the wei-ya 825 chassis and have it fry.

What model Wells monitor are you trying to replace the chassis on?

i have never seen a wg 25"  with a high impedence yoke
in fact i have never worked on any 25" monitor that had a high impedence yoke except a nanao ms8-26

the chassis was burnt and i will be honest, i just tossed it without taking note of what it was.  The frame has a sticker on it that says "WG 121187"  It also has the following number 69x1406-100 on the instruction tag on the frame.  When i replace the 19" chassis, i dont ever take note of the model, i just take a reading of the impedence and size of the neck and install the correct chassis.  Just not sure what to do here.  This is my first 25" monitor.

Sorry, I can't help you then. Those Wells-Gardner numbers you gave don't mean anything to me. I have never seen a yoke for a 25" with those readings. You sure your batteries are good in your meter?

Yeah, the batteries are good.  I use it for my 19" readings and it is always right on.  Is the consensus then that i should plug in the 825 chassis and see what happens, i called alva amusements and he said that he never sees high impedence 25" monitors.
