Problems with Mamewah v0.953b
« on: July 21, 2003, 07:57:38 am »
Hey, I recently installed the latest version of Mamewah and have been having troubles ever since.

When I install Mamewah, it installs all as normally, until it gets to the "changing your system settings" screen. Here it simply hangs... and I have to control alt delete and close the installation program to get out of it.

Then I tried running MAMEWAH. It opened, but all the colours were messed (it was all simply grey, and you could only read the highlighted text at the time.) It occured to me this might be because the layout.zip wasn't extracted, so I extracted it to the mamewah\layouts directory. Now however, when I try to open Mamewah, i'm greeted with a nice 640 by 480 resolution "This program has performed an illegal operation".

I figured it might be my instalation that was wrong, (I moved the old mamewah files to a different directly, then put the new Mamewah in the old directory once everything was removed.) Installing it anywhere else seems to have the same problem however.

Any help? :(

I have the same problem.  Must be a bug of somekind.  I am running Win 98SE.  Hope Minwah fixes soon--anxious to see the update.

I'm running Win98SE too. Might be a OS Specific problem. Anyone else there running WIN98SE getting the same problem?

Can't wait for the update. I loved the previous version of Mamewah.

Sorry guys, I hadn't anticipated such a problem - seems to be just Win98 so far.

The install program is not something I have written rather an automated tool supplied with VB, so it should 'just work'.

I will give it a try on my old Win98 machine and report back later... :-\

Same prob when I try installing on an older version of Win98, when I cancel the install it shows that VB is having a problem.
