MTC 900 chassis with suction cup problem

LAst week I got myself a nice Zaccaria Vanguard cab: http://www.dragonslairfans.com/smfor/index.php?topic=1110.0

It houses a monitor with a Hantarex MTC900 chassis. Toady I cleaned the chassis, and I noticed a few issues.

First thing I saw was a bad solder joint here (the orange wire next to the yellow wire):



That will be an easy fix, but where is this connection for?

Then I noticed some problems with the suction cup. A few little plastic parts inside the cup were broken off:





What can I do about this? Buy a complete new suction cup? If so, where do I get one, complete with the wiring (grey wire, blue wire and little orange wire)?

Last thing I noticed is that the suction cup isn't firmly attached to the monitor:



This is probably because the sticky grease is gone. Is it special grease and where can I get some of this suuf?

I think that's your yoke connector.  Very important.

As for the "grease" it doesn't help it stick, it's to prevent moisture from building up under the anode cap.

That's an unusual connector for your anode, but it looks like it just pops right in to the anode hole.  There's only one wire there, and it's heavily insulated.

No, there is also a blue wire, you can see it better on the following photo. It is connected with the neckboard.



And there is a small orange wire which comes out of the high voltage cable, you can see it in this photo on the right bottom side:




But how to solve my issues with the suction cup?

I noticed that arcadeshop does sell flyback transformers for the Hantarex MTC 900E. Are they exchangeable with the MTC 900?

And what is the difference between a 900 and a 900E?

Read all of it, there are assumptions in the beginning that prove wrong later...

Your's is a typical Euro Hanta 900.
I have the same issue with the cup with mine. The problem is that they chose the wrong kind of plastic for it. It's "see through" and that kind of plastic gets harder over time. I'm sure there are more scientific ways to describe it, something about thermoplast/ thermo-harder/ weak-makers etc. etc. but the result is the same. It sucks. I mean, it doesn't suck anymore.
On my monitors they tried to "fix" it with some kind of gel which seems to not really work.
The typical two wire set-up is weird too.

There are replacement HVT's for most Hantarex's here:

But TRIPLE, QUADRUPLE check if one of those will fit the monitor you've got. The 900 and 900E HVT's are totally different.

There must be multiple differences between the EU 900/E and 900 and the US version.  I've got chassis of both 900 and 900E, and they're /very/ similar.

It's about as puzzling as can be. But I do know that the one Ckong has is more common over here. Not a big fan of the Hanta's. I have two semi-working. I do know they have a great picture when they work, but there are a couple of construction issues. I really hate the neck-board connector. One of my monitors has a load of cardboard between it and the metal frame just to keep it in place.

Need to do cap-kit, but again, the one's available are mostly for the US version. So I'll have to make a list myself first.

Errors? I just made a printout of the MTC 900 manual, got it from Andy's site. Could you point out the errors? I don't know much about monitor technique yet, and I certainly don't want to start learning errors.  

Oh, I did 'fix' the suction cup witht two component glue, it's solid as a rock again. But I have to determine if it's really OK in a live test of course, just waiting for the game board, Vanguard, which is on its way.
