2 quick questions
« on: November 15, 2009, 10:50:46 pm »
Finished my disastrous attempt at photoshop artwork today (offically the most overly complicated badly designed program in the world  :banghead:).

Questions 1: I'm planning on forwarding this to mamemarquees. How do i now save this file. I have it saved as a .psd but its 180 mgb. Obviously I need to keep all the detail.

Questions 2: I will use a stanley knife (Exacto knife I think you yanks call it?) to cut the holes but can i use a router flush trim bit around the edges of the whole CP or use a knife again ?

Thanks

Simple answer merge your layers and save it off as a tiff file for print as for your original file size just remember it could be alot higher after all you are doing raster art

I agree with Nacimroc.  Scott at Mamemarquees likes for the art to be in tif format, 300 dpi.  If the art is too big to send via email, just burn it to a cd/dvd and mail it to him.  If you burn it, make sure you send it tif, png and psd format just incase he needs to do any adjustments.

Thanks for the help lads!

After I made it a .tiff it came out at 117 mgb :-\. I selected no compression.

I'l stay clear of 3DS MAX so. Can't believe there isn't even a draw circle tool in photoshop. Nuts!

Just prices my CP, Marquee and 2 side circle mame sticker things $175 +$45 shipping. Oww :o

What was the other place that does them just to check prices ?

Hey Necroticart, I think I've got an even better one for you, as complicated as Max is, ever try to get your head around Autodesk Flame/Inferno??  You want to see questionable software design...but I love it anyhow.

Try the "ellipse" tool, hold down SHIFT while dragging and you will have a perfectly constrained circle. See attached jpg.

Thanks for that! I figured there had to be some way of doing it! Unfortunetaly I spent the best part of 2 hours one night measuring both ways to try make a perfect circle! Artwork is printed now but won't know for a day or 2 if its right!
