YASFAM - Yet Another Street Fighter Arcade Machine :)
« on: December 09, 2009, 09:04:00 am »
I started to build an arcade cabinet together with a friend last year (august 2008). We finally finished two Street Fighter themed arcade cabinets.

That is some nice work there and I like how slim it is too.  I assume you are going to use a LCD monitor or TV.  For the wiring you might want to try using network cable because it works great, cheap and helps lessen the clutter if done properly.  I'm still new to wiring but I did a much better job on this x-arcade I picked up for $20 which was gutted.  Another nice thing about network cable is there are 8 color coded wires so it makes keeping track of which button is what on each end.

Hi mwong168,

Thanks for the compliment. The picture I took was when we where busy wiring and testing the control panel.
It looks much more organized now but I don't have a picture of the final (wiring) state.
Your wiring skills are great..keep up the good work ;) Nice idea using those network cables!

Thanks, I wouldn't say they are great but that was my second time wiring up a control panel.  Just wired up my bartop 2 nights ago and got lucky again and everything worked on the first try  ;D

Love the shape!

I don't suppose you've got the dimensions for the cab or some plans you'd be willing to share?

It looks like quite a slim build, and the sort of thing i'm after once I've got my act together to start my project.

I used the Project Mame cabinet as an example. http://www.koenigs.dk/mame/eng/stepprojectmame.htm
My cabinet is a little bit taller. Maby about 20 cm.
