Nes or Guncon2
« on: January 24, 2010, 08:17:58 am »
Hi I'm trying to decide  weather to buy  a pair of Guncon2 or nes duckhunt guns to convert with the Aimtrak, I have a pair of mini buttons on hand for a second button for the nes guns. My son says he would like a gun with some weight. I like the retro look of the Nes guns. We are very excited the one thing missing in are mame machine is a light gun as we love shooting games.

 Thanks DDW ;D

I'd go with GunCon2's.  While I love the retro-ness of the Zapper, the trigger would get tiring when playing some of the other gun games.

I vote NES.

Thats a double edged sword tho.

It can be retro & cool but then again lame when compared to a tough looking gun....then again tough looking is played out.

Do one of each  ;D

Hand size should also be considered. I went from Act Labs that are excellent for kids because the grip is small and extremely light weight.
However for guys like myself with fairly large hands, I prefer a larger gun with some weight so my vote is for the guncon2 style as well.

In case you missed it - here's the set I just bought. http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=99698.0
The fit of these guns is amazing, they feel damn good in my hand and the weight is excellent.

I had to dremel the NES gun razor thin to fit the aimtrak module.
But wasn't it fun to think you won the lottery, just for a second there???

The Guncon2 FTW.  I found 2 of these on ebay and won them for a whopping  $.99 a couple of weeks ago!  I also think the SNES Lethal Enforcers Light Gun would make a good gun for this.

Here's a good deal on a Guncon now $1.99 + shipping:

On the lethal enforcers gun is that a button I see above the grip? :D

Yep. On mine, I also added a button on the other side.
