bosch psr 1440

As you've read from my subject line, I own a bosch psr 1440.



I don't know anything about woodworking, used a circular saw once. But I'm on the great road of building my very own personalised cabinet.
Could I utilize the tool I own with a spade or forstner bit to drill holes for my buttons ?

You should be fine with that drill.  BUT, your holes will not be perfectly straight, and that drill might be a bit underpowered.  If you can get a drill guide, it will help keep the drill perfectly perpendicular to your work.

I don't have a drill guide so I can't make a recommendation, maybe someone else can?

would the second or third be any better then the bosch psr 1440 ?

I don't know about Gamma, but bosch is a reliable brand.
I would say go for the 18 volt model if you can find / afford it.

Is it possible to drill holes through metal plates with a bosch 18Volt model ?

Yeah, it should work no problem.  Just make sure you use the right bit - titanium coated or cobalt high speed twist bit.  If your workpiece is thick, add some oil for lubricant as it will get very hot.
