Monitor issues
« on: August 26, 2009, 09:32:51 pm »
So I just got a hatris cocktail and its got several monitor troubles, I've got a few monitor chassis from random tubes I can use for parts if need be. Firstly the monitor makes a hissing noise all the time(First time I plugged it in I thought it might blow up haha).
Secondly the screen is blurry and last is the screen is a tiny bit wavy(Probably a cap kit should fix it).
I'll get some pics up in a bit.
Thanks guys

Anyone? Hissing noise has stopped after some cleaning, Focus won't fix the blurry issue. There is no flyback arching.

sounds like this was stored in a shed, the crt gets damp as thus your problems
best bet is to allow it dry out at room temperature for a few days and see what happens
also have you actually adjusted the focus on the flyback?

I have tried adjusting the focus on the flyback.

I tried reflowing solder to the focus connector, didn't do anything.

I fixed the problem by adjusting a pot that was hidden by a Large capacitor.
