Many thanks grantspain and Jack Burton for your lightning fast responses. You kept me from stressing over how I'd fix the damn thing and concentrate on how I'm going to afford a new one!
It was a 27" TV, the dimension I'm worried about with a replacement is the 25" width of the TV. This TV had a very slim case on the sides, allowing it to fit nicely, with the case, into a 27" opening with some room on the sides for "nailing strips"(3/4" width) on each side. The cabinet itself is 27" wide(inside dimension). The TV is a GE 27GE620. I wouldn't mind using a different TV, I've found others on-line in the area, but they don't seem to match this 25" width restriction I've set for myself(well, it's kind of required if I want to put this beast anywhere other than my garage).
I could use help identifying which Brand/Model TV's remember their last state when power is removed, because I was going to have to use a TV remote to power on/off the one that is now trash. Or even better, which ones power on immediately to the "input" channel, instead of channel "00" or "02", which are useless to me.
By the way, I'm in Southern California, if anyone has one of these babies just lying around for me.
Thanks again!
