IC201 on 27" D9200
« on: August 19, 2009, 04:20:25 pm »
Does anyone have a cross for IC201 on the neckboard? I can't seem to find anything with the numbers I got off the chip. My monitor is dark red and I'm fairly sure its the culprit. Transistors each measure around 135v at the collector.  any suggestions as what else to look at? anyone have a good cross I can get through mouser/allied/someone?

thanks

Rich

actually you lazy so and so i was intrigued so i did some digging
now as you are probably an industry tech so you should do what i do,download the original datasheet then cross reference the description of the ic,then download possible equivalents and compare
i have found 4 already that match

When I last talked to them they said I shouldn't have a problem finding a cross. I will have to call them back tomorrow and see what I can get out of them.

oh, sorry. didn't realize I was lazy. I was busy the past 15 hours maintaining the 100 something machines I have on my location. I have the original datasheet, I found several matches that had the same specs but the pinouts were different. If you have found a direct drop in match than hats off to you, because I have spent the past hour looking.

no worries. thanks for the link. Next issue: finding a place to buy the chip. I only ever really deal with mouser or allied, they have nothing that matches..unless I missed something (i suck at finding stuff on the internet for some reason). Working for a corporation, dealing with random internet vendors can be difficult

Have you tried doing a factory memory recall first?  The D9200 (and, I just found out, the 27" VP that was copied from it) have a history of memory corruption that can cause things like low brightness, no VGA image, etc. that can't be adjusted back to normal.

To get into the secret Factory Menu, hold the DOWN and SEL keys at the same time.  When the menu pops up, SEL the RE (Memory Recall).  Then try adjusting your picture again...

have not, I'll have to give that a shot. I lost all picture sometime over the weekend. My menu will still pop up though. Compared all readings from IC201s RGB ins/outs and there are no differences...so I dunno. Haven't really had the time to look at it more.

factory reset did not help. When I disconnect the vga the no signal is just red. It should change colors. I got Wells to send me out an IC, I should have it in by thursday. All video ins and out off the IC test the same (around 1.2v) but the tech over there still thinks it is my problem.
