dressing up in heavy gear makes you hot?!
« on: July 14, 2009, 03:00:21 pm »

A federal judge in Ohio concluded that manufacturer Riddell Inc. had a duty to warn Stringer that its helmets and shoulder pads could contribute to heat stroke when used in hot conditions.

People need to be told that being 325lb, dressing up in heavy equipment, and running to exhaustion in 100 degree heat can cause heat stroke...?   :banghead:

Maybe my brother and I should sue them for not telling us we might get frostbitten if we wear them in subzero temperatures for hours.

Yup..... that federal judge needs a kick in the balls.
Typical, let's lay the blame on a manufacturer......never the coaches, school staff, parents, etc.
That's like saying every coat mnaufacturer, motorcylce leathers manufacturer, welding gear manufacturer, etc should all give the same "warning" to their consumers.
What a bunch of dumbasses..... COMMON SENSE.

I perosnally have two boy that played football and I was CONSTANTLY asking about water breaks, pads/ no pads, etc. And let me tell ya, it gets hot here with high humidity.
COMMON SENSE
Not a technician . . . . just a DIY'er.

I think dressing up in heavy gear is over rated. Doesn't make you look hot at all  :dunno

I think this is the heavy gear being referred to.

Back in MY day we lived on the moon and we had to build a rocket ship from scratch to get to the Earth before we suffocated.

True...true.  But it does make you look like you went a little overboard on the 'roids.

You should try out for the MLB while wearing that.
