I bought Sony Tv from local "ebay" 30€ its like brand new imported from Japan. I connected to my ATI X850 XT AGP component output. Pictures is flashing/flicking in windows but in mame pictures is very good. This TV has also very simple Service menu  to adjust 640x480 to b perfect.

ATI X850 XT AGP Component out (omega drivers)
3600+ 939 AMD Athlon
2GB DDR 400mhz
XP Home

TV SONY Sony KV-AR2586  25"
SDTV 480i with component RGB
(remembers last chanel)

Damn, looks pre-tty good, particularly given you didn't go VGA to component. Googling didn't reveal any results for that model, though.

Updated!

I tried TV with my main computer

AMD 6400+ X2
4GB RAM
Nvidia 9600 GT 513DDR3 PCIE overclock
Vista home premium

I was really surprised THE PICTURE GOT EVEN BETTER!. With Ati Windows desktop is flicking but NVIDIA card really made picture stable

Even there was option in resolution menu to use 640x480i SDTV :)

both cards wont work in dos ..picture came out  in welcome screen.

I will take some photo soon and post them  8)

Hmmm. It's very defined, alright....maybe too much so. Can you show some golden age games, especially vertical ones up close?
