Nice pickup.  One thing I don't have in my line up is a racing game.  Never played this one before.  I'm guessing that the artwork will be hard to find.  I haven't seen that one around (of course, I haven't been looking)

My current collection:  Arkanoid^3, Asteroids Deluxe, Centipede, Donkey Kong w/DIIK, Frenzy w/Berzerk multi, Galaga, Galaxian, Gyruss, Mappy,  Missile Command, Multi-Williams, O'Boyles Arcade (Mame), Pac-man,  Sinistar, Star Wars, Tempest, War Gods

I loved that game. IIRC it was one of the firsts (short of the first version) that actually had physics like feedback in the wheel.

Didn't it also let you select between the first game's track and the new one?

Nice find. If you don't mind me askin..how much it set you back?

I paid $300 for it.  The force feedback is working great... the monitor looks beautiful.  It does need the two battery RAM chips replaced though.

That's actually a very cool cabinet..... glad you posted this. (aside form being a great buy)
I really like the cabinet design because as much as I like the full seat setups like San Fransisco Rush or my twin Road Riot, they just take up so much space.
That cabinet still gives the sitdown "driving" experience and yet takes up not much more than a standard cabinet.

The 25" monitor is actually up top facing down bouncing off a mirror... the cab iss 6'7" tall (a beast)... but only 40" deep with the pedistal.  I am 6'4" and,  amazingly,  I can sit comfortably and play the game.

The game is fun to play too... i like having the clutch and the force feedback rocks.  It's not very "arcady" but rather more a "simulation".

I remember playing it in the arcade. I was a bit disappointed. I was young and expected a flashy racing game not an emulation. Now I look back at it, things changed of course. This was one of the first games to have a true 3d environment. It was ahead of it's time in many ways.

Great addition to the collection.

Damn.... didn't realize it was that tall until you mentioned it and looked back at your pics.
Geez, that's like Battlezone tall or taller. (I forget how tall they actually are)

Still like it.   ;D

There is a Hard Drivin' on Philly Craigslist.  That would look pretty cool sitting next to a Race Drivin'

Wow, I never played any of these games, but all three of those lined up would look pretty cool.

Hey Frizz,
New from mamemarquees:

$135 for the side art.  They also have the marquee, but yours looks to be okay.  You might want to check with them and see if they are planning on doing the seat art.

I actually got to play a Race Drivin' this morning at the campground I was staying at. That thing had been in a bar or somewhere else smoky for YEARS. The marquee and seat graphics looked worse than an old NES with 25 years of smoke damage. It was bad. The game itself worked very nicely. Wow thats a hard game to play. Definitely more on the simulation side of the gaming spectrum. Also found the very early 3D interesting.

I played one of these a few weeks ago on route in a Mall - cockpit version. The shifter was messed up, and it was cool to see that the game knew it - thus disabling that option. I was happily surprised to find that the game was FUN! Hard as hell too. Definitely better than the standard "put the gas to the floor and never let up" arcade racing games I'm used to.
