I got a tip from fellow member CyberFlex that there was a game sitting between the tracks and the floodwall in downtown huntington over the weekend - but he only got a glance of it. His wife gave him the veto stinky face, so I decided to give it a go. I thought for sure it would fit in my Ford Escape, but after actually measuring with the back seat down, it wasn't even close. I knew it would be sticking out and I would have to strap the hatch down.
Got to the site, and there sat a Championship Sprint that was mostly complete. The only thing that turned out missing was the wiring harnesses. Weird huh? I figure a bum stole the wiring for copper scrap.
Anways, the machine had obviously been sitting there for some time. The 3/4" particle board was now 1.25" flaky board. I didn't bring any tools to strip it, so I decided to go ahead and shove it in the back of the car. Besides, I would have felt like a tool myself for standing there by the tracks stripping a game. What if a cop came by?
Got that badboy in, and took off...damn that thing stunk! I was coughing and sneezing, opening all the windows seemed to make it worse. Got it home, unloaded it, and here is what I present to you:

Needless to say, there is no way in hell I will take that stinky thing inside my gameroom! It is without a doubt, a total loss as a cabinet. I have taken off the CP - which is in great shape - and the boards. I thought they would be okay, but they have stunk up my gameroom. The whole place smells musty and faintly of rats nest.

Eventually, I will take the monitor & boards up to Wade's place and test them out. Everything else will be stripped and sold off. It's too bad, because I really wanted a 2 wheeled racing game!
So there you have it - my first "found on the side of the road" find. I think I have pretty much experienced everything a collector can experience except for an auction.
