Smoking Smarties - wonder what genius thought this up
« on: March 23, 2009, 08:21:10 pm »
 :dizzy:

I've watched this little punk kids video twice now and I just cannot believe the crap people are telling our kids to do these days.

And the sickest thing is he's carrying on like he's some gansta hero....he's a twit in a pair of sunglasses and I know students that would kill him in a second were he at the schools I've worked in.

Ok, yeah I know it's a fad.  It's a crazy, stupid, innane, dumber than my hind end fad, but a fad none the less.  I just felt the parents on here should be made aware of it, if you haven't already heard of it.  The number of videos on how to do it, or doing in class on youtube, are just staggering.

Bah. If that kid was really cool he would have done a french inhale too.

Truly doesn't strike me as anything dumber than any other generation came up with at that age. Heck, I give them points for creativity, when I was a kid we had actual candy cigarettes you could do that with.

Also to protect my sanity, I watched this with the sound turned off.

So I wonder what the short and long term effects of finely dusted sugar lining the interior of the lungs is.

Whatever it is...it can't be good.

I don't see the harm in what he's doing.  He says he doesn't inhale the candy, he just sucks it into his mouth like a straw so that he can make it look like smoke.

Here's one to teach your kids  ;D : http://revision3.com/scamschool/pilot/

I guess no one remembers the gum "cigarettes" that you smoked?   They had powdered sugar around the gum and you could inhale it and do exactly what this kid is doing...

I remember those. Kind of a weird hard marshmallow-like stick with a weird after taste? I used to buy them by the box (I don't mean cigarette box either). They still sell those. Saw them a few months ago at a candy shop on Pier 39. They had so many different box arts that I didn't recognize them for what they were at first.

That play pen in the back ground doesn't exactly uh... help his "gangsta" image there.

I bought some a few years ago, but now they are impossible to find. As a kid, I would always blow it out the end instead of inhaling it. (Mainly because I accidentally inhaled proper and got that crap in my lungs)

I take it no one here ever "smoked" a pixie stick?

Shouldn't that kid be in the playpen behind him?

We got the bright idea to smash up a smartie and snort it in school. So yeah, kids are brilliant.

The best candy cigarettes were the gum cigs. They created much better powder smoke than the nasty candy ones. They also sold fake cigs that looked real. You could reload them with baby powder or powdered sugar.

The candy cigarettes we had as kids were designed for kids to blow into them so the cloud of sugar never actually goes into the lungs.

This kid is actually inhaling the sugar.

I guess with all the restrictions on playground equipment and helmet safety, kids have to be creative to be dangerous.

I'm so glad youtube didn't exist when I was a kid. I'd be either dead or a vegetable by now.

I knew tons of kids that would snort pixie sticks growing up.

Personally I just ate them, but to each their own I guess.

Parents: Don't worry about your kid too much unless he's as dumb as this guy. Can't tell the difference between a Smartie and "Rockets". So he's obviously illiterate.
NO MORE!!
