Uh, I do not believe mouse input in MAMEWah is the problem.
I use mamewah and use my trackball to play marble madness.

I believe the lack of trackball support is a MAME configuration issue.  You just don't have mame config'd right.

To just hit "start" will just enter the game, but you need the mouse switch if you wanna play trackball games. I don't think you can set up Mamewah to automatically use switches every time (unless the new version offers this). You have to set them up as options. Then you hold either P1B1 or P1B2 as you hti start to enable theseoptions. At least... that's how I did it.

Yep...

You need to create a MAME.INI.  Do 'mame -cc' at a commandline, and then edit MAME.INI and change 'mouse 0' to 'mouse 1'.

Or set the 'Default Options' to 'mouse 1' :)

Changing mame.ini to:

mouse  1

will activate the mouse / trackball for all games. I don't think you want to do that.

Create a marble.ini file and put it in your cntrl directory and use the same line in it.

You'll need to activate the controller directory through mame.ini

Check the mame docs or mame.net for more info.

True, I suppose I assumed that Richy would want to play all trackball games...

Create a marble.ini file and put it in your cntrl directory and use the same line in it.

You'll need to activate the controller directory through mame.ini

Or you could put "trackball_ini tball" in the ctrlr default.ini file, leave mame.ini with "mouse 0", and make a file called tball.ini containing only the "mouse 1" line, instead.  This way all trackball games will have mouse enabled, but all other games won't.  (unless those games also have a ctrlr ini file or commandline set to enable mice, of course.)  You could also add "dial_ini tball" to default.ini so all spinner games look at tball.ini file and thus have the mouse enabled, too.

Like Rocky said, more info on using ctrlr ini files in docs/ctrlr.txt file and http://www.mameworld.net/easyemu/mamecontrolini.htm

Thanks guys. I would play all trackball games, but some spinner games, i'd still want to use the joystick. You can use the joystick as well as the trackball, even if trackball's turned on, can't you?
