Pictures of my "Game Room" (In the Works!)
« on: February 12, 2009, 10:49:32 pm »
Hey all, just wanted to share a couple of the pics of my Game Room that is in the works. I decided now that we have our house I wanted to setup a little gaming sanctuary where I can decompress after a long hard day of work.

These are just a couple of pictures for where I am at with it so far.

Needed to clean out the mess from our “Guest” room. Apparently “Guest” is a fancy way of saying “Storage”. ;)

Painting two of the walls blue in the game room. In all honesty my fiancée did all the painting. Had to put her to work. Hehe.

Blue walls, everything is starting to fall into place. I sensed that my decals were on the way.

Fixing my walls up. Woot!

My finished walls… ^_^

Shots of my wall from a different angle.

Moving my gear upstairs. My back hurts just looking at this picture.

My main PC being wired up and put into place. This is where I do all of all my forum ranting. Hehe.

This is my server “Sheila” or as she is known on the network… “TankLady”. 2.5 Terrabytes of anime on there. ^o^

My Sharp Aquos hooked up the Sheila. Screenshot is of Final Fantasy VII – Last Order pilot. Still need to get my older consoles hooked up.

That’s all for now guys. I will keep ya posted as I get my act together and try to finish getting things setup. I have been pretty busy with work, and side jobs I do lately, but I am hoping to set aside some time to work on the Game Room next weekend.

I'm making something at the moment that would fit right in in your game room, I'll post a pic when its done in a week or so.

Something else that immediately comes to mind is that the art being that low on the wall precludes cabs being on those walls.

I'm sure there will be one or two of these in the corner with the bottom decals:

 ;D

What really worries me is this:

I mean, if you ever moved a cab, you're not complaining about that small stuff  :laugh2:

Seriously, DIYROMArcade is new here and already mentions it's In the Works, so we should wait and see, he still has plenty of room next to the decals for a couple of cabs.

Don't take all of this too seriously and welcome here DIYROMArcade !

If I look at his PC case, I see the type that has either 10 shelves for a nice conrete brick collection, a 30 liter fluor-toxic-liquid tank for filling NEON tubes, or it houses 5 PC's in one case. OMG, this is a sick dimension for a normal gaming PC. Or can you fold 4 Aquos displays into it?

They are, but regretfully they're not mine but Luigi's (he's on the forum here) and he lives in Germany. I've seen the machines when I was over at Luigi's to pick up the Joust but for some reason didn't play any of them....I really like the DK.

The wall-mount machines are typically German.  They still make money gambling (fruit) machines wall-mount. I actually think it's a very clever idea, very suitable for places with little space :D They also must be a dream to work on. Everything at easy reach level, open the door and you can work on anything without kneeling, bending your back etc.

Thanks man, I’ll be interested to see your project! My biggest factor is limited space so that’s why I’m working on a small profile arcade machine. I’m going to need to shift a few things around to make it fit though. Good to meet ya!

*Covers Ears* LaLaLaLaLa. ^_^

Right now I am working on building my first DIY Arcade Machine but at the moment all I have are my beloved consoles. To me a big part of gaming is consoles. I still remember growing up with an Atari 2600, and NES with Rob the Robot. While my arcade machine will be running MAME it will also be running tons of the consoles I loved from my childhood.

I posted some construction pics of the small profile arcade machine I am building in the “Projects” forum. I am thinking it will either go on my desk, or next to my server with the adjusting of some furniture. As for full size cabinets, I have ideas for two I would like to build down the road, but they will most likely need to go into a downstairs room that I am planning out as a home theater. (Projector, Bar, and Arcade Machines. Woot!)

Thanks for checking out my pics!

Blanka

Sheila is a big girl. I needed quite a few drives and fans in the system because I am running 2.5 terrabytes of storage. Right now 75% of that is being used by Anime. Hehe.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I’ll post some updated pics once I get things more squared away.
