cpv2 problem
« on: January 22, 2009, 09:35:27 pm »
I have installed CPV2 and follow the instruction to generate the file, but when i try to see the control (dos command C:\CVP2\CPV2.EXE -R=PACMAN) I always get the same error message:

"execution error 13"  type incompatibility

I have the last Mame version running with Windows xp

Do you have any idea what i have done wrong..

thanks Gino

When you used the CPV2 Layout designer, and setting up the buttons, was 'arcade' or 'console' check as an option? I had this problem in trying to set up CPV2 for my PC games. I had the Arcade option checked when it should have checked Console. Possibly vicsa versa for you.

But I am definitely not an expert on the matter. I fixed my type 13 error but can only get the static background to show up and not the correct controls for my PC game.

Did you install the cpv2 system files? They are on the same page as the cpv2 download.

I know that this isn't the answer to your question, but have you checked out CPWizard?  I think CPV2 is starting to show its age, but CPWizard is a very good alternative.

Were you able to figure anything out?
