Is there a schematic for the madcatz xbox 360 control pad?
« on: January 13, 2009, 06:24:43 pm »
Hello all.....i am looking for assistance for my Xbox360 arcade controller.  So far I have successfully made one joystick using a mad catz controller.  I bought a second one and made a second joystick, I plugged the controller in but no lights are on, on the pcb.  I removed all the wires I soldered to the pad, but the lights are still off and the xbox does not detect it.  I measured the +5 voltage at the PCB from the USB and it is getting to that point.  Up until that point I am not sure where else to check.  Any ideas ?

If not then I guess I’ll shell out another 25 bucks for a second pad.

Thanks again…..This site is great, I made my original PS2 joystick many many years ago using this site.

Either you have a short somewhere (excess solder), or you accidently cut a trace or broke off a component.  Try examining your PCB under a lighted magnifying glass, if you have one.

I also had a Madcatz just not work for me.  I had bought it months ago to mod, took it apart and cut off the rumble motors, then decided to make sure it worked before I started soldering, it didnt.  I ended up just buying another one, and returning the first put back together instead.  Not really a moral thing to do, but it saved me $25....

I looked at it and I have a feeling it didn;t work to start with.  I just bought another one, will definitly test it prior....return the old one.

Not a schematic, but these pictures from slagcoin's site (http://slagcoin.com) show a couple of the madcatz 360 pcbs, as well as where the appropriate wires are supposed to go. It might be useful to you in the future. Also has the official xbox 360 pcbs on there, as well as a crap-ton of other systems, if you're lookin for those.
