diehard - needs to have "-bios us" flag to make it run ? How To ?

  The default BIOS of the Sega ST-V system is Japanese, because most of the games on that system were primarily for the Japanese market. However, Die Hard Arcade only runs with the US version of the BIOS. You can select it with the -bios parameter as follows:
   mame diehard -bios us

how do i add this ?

Easiest way is to do that from a command prompt
mame diehard -bios us

is there any other way to do this from the ini file ? because im having trouble with the dos prompt keeps telling me it cant find the path, in my ini file it says bios default, but i dont want it to mess with other games i just wanna fix diehard

Make a file diehard.ini, and in it put "bios us".  That's it.

I'd put the file in the "ini" folder, but this working assumes the following two defaults in standard mame.ini:
inipath                   .;ini
readconfig                1

that totally worked! thanks.. however i just want to make sure that this won't mess up other games i.e. japanese games that require jap bios?! or is it only going to effect that one game ? Any ways

As you've only applied it to the diehard.ini then tha'ts all it will apply to.

Since this was bumped, I might as well post it now.  Looks like mame now has a way for the diehard driver to set the us bios.  Hasn't been done yet (0.129), but I'll bet before 0.130 comes out it will have it, which will mean no diehard.ini with just the one bios line in the near future.

What mame number, CPU, and OS (32 vs 64 bit) are you using?  Looks like 0.128u4 had a major slow down for stv.c games (diehard).  (I'm going by vfkids, another stv game.)  64 bit OS and mame helps a lot over 32 bit, but if your OS isn't 64 bit, no help there without installing new OS.  Also, check the benchmarks and if your computer is less than the ones that run vfkids at 100%, very little to do.
