Announcing Exibar's Lair :-)
« on: September 09, 2004, 12:40:41 am »
Here's a pic of my Marquee and a full length shot of my little project that's consumed my life for a while :-)
This is the first time anyone outside of my wife and kids and folks have seen the cabinet, please be kind :-)

I'll be setting up a web site with the progression pics on it but I just wanted to share a couple pics with everyone first :-)

It's a converted Neo-Geo 4 way MVS cab, 25" WGK7000 monitor, the usual type control panel, 3" happ trackball, original Tempest spinner, two top button Happ sticks, buttons, the usual stuff :-)
Coin mechs will be setup to accept BYOAC tokens, right now it takes quarters (come on over and play! <grin>).
I rigged the coin switchs to give credits and also hooked up two red buttons above for coinage... still have to reach down like putting in a quarter, so it's pretty cool :-)

I've worked hard on this little thing like most of us here and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.

Still a little bit to do with it though... I want to configure MameWah for the other emus that I have loaded, NES, Z26, coleco Vision, etc.  That'll be fun :-)

Still have to put a cap kit into the monitor chassis though, the sucker takes a while to warm up and before it does the screen is kinda funky and wavy like a flag a bit for lighter full screen colors.

Stay tuned to www.exibarslair.com for more details.

oh, Yes, I drew the Exibar's Lair portion of the marque in the style of the Zork adventure game logo... Zork is one of my all time favorite adventure games and wanted to immortalize it in Marquee form.  Right now the Marquee is just a laser printed image, I'm waiting for customarcadegrafix to send me my finished printed marquee...

   Thanks for looking all!

Cool thanks!  :-)

I put many many hours into that Marquee and I feel it came out pretty good too.  Always trying to get it "just right".

Next to design is the CPO and sideart.  I'm not really in a rush for the sideart but it's on my want list.

The picture shown above of the whole cab shows it before I put the buttons and spinner on, in case anyone was wondering.

The bottom part is 18.75 x 6.127  so it's not as large as it looks.  The top part that has MAME in it is 9.5 x 4 .

The whole top flips open to reveal the speakers and flourescent light, the marquee's are attached to the steel part the flips up.

thanks for the great comments all!  :-)
