No monitor has ever injured me. The other way around though....
Wish list: Galaga, Pacman, Pooyan, Star Wars cockpit, Gauntlet, Tron

And the Lord spake, saying, 'First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more. No less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three.

Nothing spectacular. I cut myself quite badly on a computer frame. It was quite a deep cut, but after a while it stopped bleeding (before I ran out of blood luckily) and I didn't need stitches.

Worst damage isn't computer/game related though. When I was 3 years old a telephone booth door hit me in the face. Gave me a big scar on my upper lip.

A telephone booth?

I think I remember what that is......

Pretty soon that might be all any of us have to remember those things.  Your scar.  Oh, and pictures of like 10 people stuffed into the things at once like a clown car.

Party on dudes!

Yeah once upon a time there were these were fierce mythical creatures standing on many a street corner. They could communicate over vast distances, but sometimes they would attack toddlers at will :P

Ive been lucky with montiors. No major cuts or anything. A little shock here or there but nothing much.

Great. Now something is going to happen...

I had to change polarity on the yoke because my picture was flipped... for some reason I tried to do this while the monitor was on...   bbzzZZT!

I was electro-knocked out, I picked blood cause I cut myself on monitor frames and crap all the time.

I pulled a couple muscles in my back moving one.  Knocked me off my feet for a couple days and took three weeks to be back to 100%.  Haven't cut or electrocuted myself yet.

not a monitor but mine was a sony trinitron tv, adjustsing the psu (voltage was low)

the trimmer I was adjusting fell apart as it was turning, the result was psu went to max output 230v instead of 120, flyback obviously stepped up by a similar scale all I saw was a blue flash and then I was on my back 15 feet away from the set.

3 weeks later the screen still had 3 dots on the screen, when i finally got around to looking at the set again it needed a new trimmer and lopt and it came back up good as new (sony used to build decent tvs)

Stories?  Do tell!

Was troubleshooting Berzerk and was having to discharge the monitor each time.  Well, on about the 18th try, I forgot to discharge.

PZZZZZZZZZZT!!!   :dizzy:

Right down my right arm and out my feet.  Even the piggy slippers couldn't stop it!

Ironically enough, it was not the monitor that bit me, but the soldering iron...short version of the story is I am now the only person I know with a 2.5" long soldering iron scar on the side of their foot.  (the moral here is don't solder without shoes on) :P

There are probably few among us as techs who do NOT have at least one or 2 small burn scars somewhere on their bodies.  I have no doubt that I have several tiny marks from, um , sentient solder.

Yup, thats my story.  Lead with a mind of its own.  And the ability to jump or even fly.

At least it usually cools enough in the air to not actually bond to the skin.  Now that would leave an impression....

I've only ever gotten a slight shock from anything game/monitor related.

My worst injury involving electricity though, was a water heater with a short. Hopped out of the shower when the water went cold, ran down into the basement to hit the reset button and touched the box around the button.
I left an impression on the furnace a few feet behind me.......

I must say out of all the times I've been shocked, Ive never been the one leaving impressions. I've always had impressions left in ME. Good show!

When i was a kid  (10 years or so) we went to this holiday park and there was a hyper sports arcade at the snackbar. So when i was waiting for the french fries i found out the CP bolts would electrocute you  :dizzy: It wasn't 220 volt but it gave you a big buzz  >:D

The little bastard i was i kept asking grown ups that were passing by to touch the bolts  :laugh2: The best thing was the time delay of one second or so, they gave me the look  :dunno and then jumped into the air  ;D

Not really an injury but a good arcade electricity story.
