So why do the British get the better collector's edition?  Now if I want the BOS power armor figure I need to spend 30 dollars more due to the exchange rate.  Of course this is all assuming it even works on an NTSC 360.

All we get are the stupid bobbleheads.
Back in MY day we lived on the moon and we had to build a rocket ship from scratch to get to the Earth before we suffocated.

Did you check out Amazon's "Survival Edition"?

I actually did look into the survival edition but it sucks too.  Okay great we get a lunch box and a clock in addition to the bobble head.  I cannot understand why they think a bobble head is a good item for bonus content.

Sigh.  Right now I'm on the fence for the collector's and the basic edition.  All I really want is the game, the making of dvd, and the BOS figure but without knowing if the game will be region free there is no point in getting the UK version, not to mention the 30 dollar difference in price compared to the american version.  That 30 dollars can go towards getting the first two games since I haven't played them yet.

Fallout 3 is pretty sweet, I have a two week ban for playing it early.  Dumb Microsoft :(  I didn't even play it online, just got an achievement so they noticed when I hooked the cord up for COD4.

why is it only a two week ban?  Everything I've ever seen in situations like that is a permanent ban to that console's ID
first off your and idiot

I have no idea.  I went to sign on to Call of Duty and it said I was banned until 10/27/08 and banned from messenger until 10/20/08.  I really didn't want to investigate too much and raise more red flags.  Also, they did not ban my xbox, only my gamertag.  I got lucky I guess...

Thats very interesting, and unlike anything I"ve heard/read about Xbox bannings.

I've never once heard of MS banning a gamertag -- only consoles.  I know that if you were to get banned permanently you can transfer over your gamertag to another Xbox

I'd say you got lucky - I'd certainly prefer that to a permaban if the option is available.  I guess this is a new practice.

I think it is because I got banned for playing a game early, not for having a modded console.  I guess they have different practices for different offenses.

you can also get banned for being "too good"  :laugh2:

I got a 2 week ban before because I kept beating kids up in capcom vs snk 2 all day. I am guessing they were sending in negative feedback or something. thats quite possibly the dumbest "feature" ever. cvs2 actually has a feedback system. yeah 90% of the people playing online sucks..SO free its hilarious.

The guys on Capcom VS SNK2 are hardcore.  I thought I was decent at it until I got started playing it online and went like 1-15.  People re-dizzied me constantly, crazy good players!  I stand a much better chance on 3rd Strike... slower pace is better for me.

So who's been playing?  I think this is definitely going to be the best game I'll play this year.

I've been playing Gears of War 2 and Left 4 Dead so I haven't gotten it yet.  I'll either get Fallout 3, Dead Space, Bioshock, or a non360 related game.  That silly retro topic in Main has gotten me interested in Thief amongst other games I've always wanted to play but never did.

I've got about 70 hours invested in it.  Great game.

What's the 'style' of Fallout 3?  Is it a turn based RPG like the two PC games were?

Fallout 1 & 2 did nothing for me, but Fallout 3 looks completely different in the commercials.

Did you ever play Oblivion?

It is built on the Oblivion engine, and it shares most of its gameplay with it.

It is a huge world that you explore, and you do your fighting in real time. It is a completely different developer, and as is pretty much nothing like the previous 2.

I hate turn based RPGs and won't touch the first two Fallouts.  I consider Fallout 3 a mix between RPG and FPS - as noted above, all combat is real time and free.

then you suck, Fallout 1 and 2 were and are my top 2 fave PC games ever with Command And Conquer Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge a close 3rd.

I rented it and honestly I was rather bored by it. I guess its just a bit clunky for my tastes. The fighting is well sorta weak when I'm used to FPS because it almost felt like I was playing on a PC using a mouse with my left hand.

I'm sure there probably is a great story behind the game and it probably gets better, but I'm the kind of player if I'm not WOW'd right off the bat I don't have the patience to spend hours looking for it. I probably played for 4hours.

fallout 3 is a niche game, the only people who are pretty assured of liking it are either Oblivion Fans or Fall Out fans. Despite Black Isle not making this game it feels VERY Fallouty, Im starting to get the hang of it, I didnt like Oblivion and Im not a huge fan of FPS games. I should have gotten the regular edition, but the bobble head it comes with is pretty cool. Im only 2 hours in and the story is starting to get me, Im glad I saved though, I accidentally tried to open a locked box in plain view and now the town (Megaton) is trying to kill me :(
