Who's familiar with EM games?
« on: December 10, 2008, 11:32:28 am »
I received a call from a woman just now that has this pin:

http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?gid=1550

I've never worked on an EM Machine before.  She says that some of the score reels aren't turning.  What are some of the things I should look for?

It may be that they just need pulled and cleaned. It is a common issue on an EM that the score reels gum up with grease and crud.

Charge her a flat fee and use it as a learning experience. There are extremely good EM pin guides at Marvin3m.com

That's mostly a Williams machine, but with metric hardware.

Common score reel problems are wires broken off from the leaf switch blades (bring your soldering iron) and the switches on the reels being dirty or out of adjustment.

Sometimes the screws fall out of the coil stop bracket and the coil flops out. And sometimes the grease on the reel where the contacts land on the circuit board gets dried out and gummy.
