WTF Cade? - Now for sale
« on: October 30, 2008, 01:24:32 am »
For Sale due to financial problems, see BS&T forum:

Hi y'all I got started on the touchscreen arcade that I wanted to make from one of these:  http://www.mintronix.com/p5.htm

Has an Intel celeron 734mhz processor w/256 ram, running winxp pro.
Touchscreen specs, 12”  800 x 600 res. and 1024 x 768 res. active TFT Color LCD.

I've loaded several games, bejeweled 2, hammer heads (kinda slow), chuzzle and hardwood solitaire, but I'm already getting bored with them.

So I'm ready for emulators.
Which versions of what popular emus for nes, snes, tg-16, and especially MAME
(with tools for building romsets, Please)
should I be trying to run on this machine with these specs?
Is Metal Slug possible on this machine?

Also, touchscreen project guys, what games are you playing?
Howzabout a list to share with us noobs?

I've also noticed that some games have to be run windowed for accuracy, what's up with that?

I've cobbled together a stand of sorts for this thing, so it's not exactly a bartop, or cabaret, more of a sit-down thingy that you pull up to the couch, hence the WTF title.

Gotta do this one on a tight budget, more for just plain fun than fanciness or innovation, I'll post pics of my jury-rigged stand later on, kinda a conversion of one thing into something else.  :dizzy:

Any feedback/input is appreciated.

Thanks always! ARCADIAC!

Just curious, why do you want to build romsets for those emulators?

How much did you pay for the touchscreen?
Back in MY day we lived on the moon and we had to build a rocket ship from scratch to get to the Earth before we suffocated.

IG-88, I was speaking about the MAME romset, the set I have is for the most recent build, it's really big and probably won't run on the slow processor, plus doesn't support Metal Slug.
So I'm wondering what would be the best version of MAME for those specs and also what my options would be for Neo-Geo etc.

I haven't loaded/played emus much for about 4 years and I barely remember which ones I was using back then!

Ah, the joys of getting older!  :duckhunt

SithMaster, As far as the units, I paid a bit for them and sold them for a bit more, $100.
Unfortunately they are all gone.
