Yeah, I hope they're more durable than the original Atari's too...the weak part on those was the plastic ring that pressed the contact pads. Mine usually broke somewhere in the ring around the base with the contactors on it. After getting several replacements, and some other brands, my mom finally got us a pair of Wico bat handle sticks...never had one of those break ;D Used them up thru my C-64 and Amiga days, and still have them, although they don't get any use anymore.

I loved the almost non-existent throw on these and contemplated something like this, but hadn't really thought about how to hack them.

I always had a couple of rebuild kits on hand for when mine broke...
