MAME ROM compatibility question
« on: September 16, 2008, 09:23:44 am »
Sorry guys if this has been answered before but I don't get this.

I'm looking to compile my own .127 MAME with Headkaze's compiler to add hiscore support and kill the nagscreens. However my ROMs are .125. Question is: will they work? Or failing that is there a copy of the .125 source kicking about with a compatible diff patch that I can compile instead please?

TIA you guys

Cheers
Jon

Your roms should be fine.  Sometimes there are changes in sets, just look at the whatsnew files available at mamedev.com.

99% of them will work just fine.
