Who has a working World Series the Season? Possible driver issues.

Now I see what you mean.  In Mame 109 (and 072), it behaves exactly like you said.  When the pitcher is aiming, up and down are reverse of what they should be.  Pitching the ball seems to operate like it should.  Switching the axes makes the pitching no longer work properly.

Were you able to play reasonably well in Mame 126u2?  When I tried to play using Mame 126 or 127, the controls were really screwed up.  For example, on the letter-choosing screen, I'm unable to home in on a particular letter because the cursor flutters around.  In the older versions of Mame, this isn't a problem, and I can home in on particular letters very easily.  Also, using 126 or 127, the controls within the game suffer from the same problems.

Chunce DeLeone:
I had similar responses with both versions of mame.  Its hard to remeber about the letter choosing screen because as soon as I relized how scured up it was I figured I could get to that later and just skip it.  On 126u2 I only tried the mouse.  I'm convinced it an issue with the driver and will report the bug and see what happens.  I know nothing about the drivers and the development of this great thing, but I gotta believe it an easy fix, well .....hoping!  This game with the original controls is going to be awsome!  Looking to change my whole control panel to a modular one using T-tracks to mount everything, so the WSB CP is perfect for this as it would just have to be scrued to a piece of wood, done deal,  I appreciate the validation dude,

Tafoid:
Unfortunately, it's been reported before and confirmed to be working so long as the unique devices are hooked up correctly.  Without the unique controls, this series of games is just hard to use on a normal PC unless your devices mimic 100% the behavior of the original controls.

Actually, I think that Chunce DeLeone may have come accross a bug that nobody has noticed before.  According to what More Cowbell said, it seems that the original game behaves one way, while the Mame version behaves another way.  In Mame, when the pitcher aims, up=down and down=up, but when the pitcher throws, up=up and down=down.  In the original game when the pitcher aims, up=up and down=down, and when the pitcher throws, up=up and down=down.  It doesn't appear to be just a matter of reversing the direction, because fixing the pitcher's aim breaks the pitcher's throw, since both are controlled by the same joystick axis.

Chunce DeLeone:
Yes, I think this is a new uncovered bug, and I am using the original CP from a World Series machine.  I posted the bug, let see whats happens.
