cloned desk top problem (windows media player 11 )
« on: August 31, 2008, 11:52:11 am »
system 1.8 CPU
1gig of ram
xp (gold SP3) I know .... no lectures ... I like this OS works great for me
video card nvidia GeForce2mx/mx400
svideo to rca style plug
problem is on both window media classic and version 11.

I have a 17'' PC monitor on top of my OLD 52" projection TV way to old to have a SVID port.
(monitor is for times I can not read the 52 inch screen) (games play just fine)

I do not know what happened, I was having a grand old time with this set up. but for some reason windows media quit playing my avi movies on the projection TV. It did before.

movies will play on the PC monitor but on the projection TV only shows the media player and viewing screen part is blank .

I just checked it.... MP3's play on both screens but not Avie movies.
This made me think... I just tried a DVD.... It worked fine also . Both screens.

just the movies on my hard drive do not play on both screen's :banghead:

I'm too DVD ripper plat. is my ripper I use to convert to divx avi
all files are just over 1 gig in size

modified post to say: I just put in a avi (flinstones on CD) ind drive and only
shows cartoon on PC monitor ...Media player is on both screens but cartoon only visible on PC monitor
wish I could figure it out.  I have watched corps bride last month on both and die hard 3 just a week ago on the big screen.

right click on desk top ... properties, settings.
1st screen highlighted 2ND screen not highlighted
not attached.
If I attache the 2ND screen the My projection screen gets its on desk top and nothing shows up on it but its own desk top.
I lose the use of my games and all on it.
screen resolution is 800 by 600

If you updated the OS recently, try rolling it back. The MAME motto is "newer isnt always better", and you should see if this is the case with media player and associated drivers. If you have system restore set up, I would suggest restoring to a point in time that the system last worked and record the version info for the players and drivers.

Really? I had a similar problem, but I think any video would only show up in the pane of one monitor. If I switched which monitor was '1', then that one would show video in the pane. I think it's still not fixed, regardless of card installed.
