Has anyone managed to wire up 49 way joysticks to a Dreamcast analog stick?  I'm planning on replacing my original Gauntlet Legends PCB set and dropping a Dreamcast into my cab.  I'd like to use the Happ/Midway 49 way joysticks with it, especially since I recently bought 2 new ones to replace the worn ones.
I bought my first Dreamcast this week for $15, but it didn't come with Gauntlet Legends.  I haven't even had time to mess with the console yet, and I'm just assuming that Gauntlet uses the analog stick because the arcade version does.  I've seen this schematic for interfacing a 49 way to a Hall effect joystick:

Has anyone even done this with a Dreamcast?  Could someone with a Dreamcast and Gauntlet Legends let me know if it can be played with the D-pad, and if it's any good?  My ultimate plan was to have a switchable setup with MAME and Dreamcast, but I'm not sure if the 49 ways are going to throw a wrench into the works.
Thanks!
