Painting from head to toe

Maybe not the right forum, lets see...

I'm thinking of decorating a cabinet I just bought to match my websites logo (as seen below). Basically that just means painting it in orange then adding the text in black.

I may not do it, but I'm first seeing how difficult / expensive it will be, so any info you can give would be very very helpful.

Shouldn't be too hard at all.

Im guessing your from the UK from your recent purchase. If so you could take a brochure/leaflet (if you have one, if not just print out the colour you want) etc to B&Q and they would colour match the orange for you.

You could easily make some stensils to do the black text.

You may have to do a fair bit of prep to the cabinet surfaces if you want a good finish but it would be worth it.

Sounds good what you're saying, so do I get a spray can or a bucket of paint?
Also, how would I prepare the surface to have a nice finish?

i had light surface scratches that when painted over it could be saw, so i got 3 500ml tins of primer filler from halfords £6.50 a tin.
and i sprayed the full cabinet with it, and after if dryed i gave it a light sand, then used black satinwood (dulux) and a b&q mini roller set.

so far its turned out ok, i was going to do some graphic art on side of it (just a blue tick with mame)

if you can get some plotter paper and as already said put your design on that then cut it out and you can use some sticky removable adhesive spray ( poundland)

stick just the edges on so you know its straight, then tape aroud inside of letters then spray it as it should go onto the other colour ok, if you want it matched go to a paint auto shop with a sample of colour.

I would recommend getting a sign shop to cut you a stencil. If it is basic lettering and only 1'x2' or so, it should be pretty cheap. That will save you a ton of time and headaches and the final product will look much better.
