Help! TV Appearing crooked?!?!
« on: May 28, 2008, 09:48:49 pm »
So basically I have a Toshiba TV plugged into a ATI All in wonder VE running powerstrip in 640 x 480 and I cannot get the screen from coming out crooked!  Like the top left corner is WAY higher than the top right corner!

Any suggestions?
Thanks!
-Nick

Argh nevermind.  Looks like I bought a bum TV.  Argh.  I think I'm gonna sell this for as much as I can get and just eat the loss.  Back to the drawing board.  However, if anyone knows a solution though, I'm all ears.

Have your tried a standard signal ?  Like from a DVD player or VCR / cable etc...

Just cuz there should be ether a service menu on the tv, or an ATI software setting

I noticed a "magnet burn" in the screen too, so i think I'm done with this TV.  I've read about one with power return for sale at wal-mart so I think I'm gonna buy it.

I was debating on an arcade monitor... but price + reliability just seemed negative.

I depends on what you get.  I'd much rather get an arcade monitor than a TV.  What games are you planning to run?

Argh.   New tv, still crooked!  Basically the upper right corner is cut off while the upper left corner is still in frame.  Sort of like a crooked picture frame.  Any ideas?  I think I'm gonna try getting rid of powerstrip to see if that helps.  I'll post a picture when I get a moment.

Yup. After TONS of time messing with this stuff I FINALLY got it working.  You are right it was in the ATI controls.  FYI the "stretch screen" option distorts and makes my TV crooked, so if anyone else tries, you may just wanna stick with having 97% of the screen filled instead of 100%

Anyways thanks for the help!  FYI the Sansui TV at wal-mart has power return (for all those looking for one) and a pretty decent price!
