Where to find FastMAME .84?
« on: May 22, 2008, 05:58:31 am »
Anyone have a copy or know where to get it?

Also, what is so special about this version of MAME?  I'm looking to run some of the classics on an older PIII machine and was told that this version would be a good fit.

Thanks.

I use it on an old PIII machine and it works absolutely wonderful. Even plays fighters at great speed.

Gonzo gave me this link in my thread.

Got it!  Thanks a bunch.

Has anyone used the .98 version or is the .84 version the best one?

Well, it depends on your machine. Test some games out  and see which one runs the fastest.

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

Funny, I saw "Where to find FastMAME.84?" and I thought, "How long 'til gonzo shows up?"

Will do.  Where can I get the .98 version?  That's the last version of FastMAME released, right?  Thanks.
