I mean, I can understand people not wanting certain software on their computer. I guess it depends on what else you want to do with your system. On my computers, I could care less about the "bloat" that might be there since I can quite readily remove it.
I would think that if you are building an arcade machine, you don't want it to look like a pc running Windows. I could be wrong. If it is not needed, why bother installing it? There are many people that use TinyXP - I'm sure they would agree with my point of view. You are aware that when you "uninstall" something in Windows, it leaves a bunch of crap behind, right? Why do you think that most systems start to slow down after being run for a while, with people installing and uninstalling software? Defrag only goes so far - eventually you end up wiping and reloading Windows...
You never know, Jdurg. Maybe he doesn't like the Java runtime "bloat" either.
Don't get me going on that one - try to run multiple Java programs on the same machine (and throw in one that only works on MS Java for fun), some of which require a specific version. You have to jump through all kinds of hoops to get them to cooperate. I love the concept of Java, but the implementation is messy, whether it be the developers fault or Suns.
By the way SGT - one thing your post stalking won't show is that Headkaze and I have "made up" - it's all good between us. We have discussed things via PM, and that little episode is over. Things escalated beyond control on both our posts, and it's over. I was simply answering the OP's question - your "deduction" is entirely wrong.
