Questions about first byoac experience...
« on: August 22, 2008, 11:36:06 pm »
Hi guys.  So... I ordered a Seimitsu LS-33 and 6 Sanwa OBFS-30 buttons to mod my HFS3 with.  I was getting excited so I decided to break out Project Arcade and read that a bit.  I never got my cab started because of money issues.  Then I thought "what the hell, I have a bit so I will make a bar top."  I've never modded any controllers, done any soldering or woodwork before but I hope this will be a good experience.

My first question is if anyone has tried these buttons/sticks with the I-PAC?  All I have really seen are mentions to HAPP buttons (and occasionally x-arcade).  I am just going to get the I-PAC VE since it will only need 1P controls and USB will be enough the handle the inputs (I heard, from Systm, that USB cannot send more than a few inputs at a time which may be a problem for 2P fighting games).  I already have ideas in my head for a 2nd bar top with 2P for fighting games.  Back to my original question, will the buttons/stick I have coming work with an I-PAC or will I have to order some other style?

Thanks.

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

The switches in the buttons simply complete a circuit using wires from the I-PAC. Yes, they will work.
