Snaps fingers in the direction of AFE
« on: May 03, 2008, 11:00:46 pm »
I was wondering if there was a way to have 2 snaps in atomicFE. Basically I wanted a small video of the game being played, and another area of the screen showing what buttons did what for that game.

Is there any way to have a video snap, and a pic snap on screen at the same time? (From what I can tell there is only one snap object in atomicFE.) If this isnt possible, would it be something that the maker of AtomicFE may add in the future? Or should I go for another frontend (yet again!)

Of course you can.

You have to modify your layout to add what you want display.

You can put to do what you want a :

Dyn Custom1 object,  Dyn Custom2 Object or a Marquee object.

Don't care about the name of the object, they are object that display something according to the game selected.

So just place the object on the layout , and with AtomicManager for your configuration make point :

Custom1 Directory,  or Custom2 Directory or  Marquee directory  to the folder that contains the images you want.

images must be named :  <name of rom>.<Snap extension>

ex: pacman.png
or if it is a video  pacman.avi     (only custom1 and 2 manage video , not marquee=

Got a little cut off at the end, do you mean: pacman.png would become pacman.png.custom1 for instance?

EDIT: Oh wait. I think I understand what you mean. pacman.png would still be pacman.png, it just has to be in the properly targeted directory. (I think...)

Thanx. I didnt want to have to switch front ends another time....

exactly.  Smiley

I realize that american (or that other language that is similar [oft refered to as english]) isnt your primary language, so it is sometimes hard to follow you, but I got it this time. Also doesnt help that I took spanish in high school, instead of french. (I wanted to take german but they were phasing it out :< Evil nazis! Always ruining my attempts at learning german!)

Aber, fick es.

Thanx for your help. (I presume you speak french since many of the dialog boxes in atomic are still in french in the english language version).

yes, i'm French.

Normally there is no more dialog box in French in Atomic , except some unexcepted error messages and sometimes some buttons.  It is due to the fact i use a French version of Delphi to make the config tools and i didn't find a way yey to force it to "compile" in english.

Some of dialog have both for example in AtomicKey , English and French  but the french you see is just the translation of the english you see too.
