In the Netherlands we have some rural areas where orthodox protestants live. They don't vaccinate their kids on the grounds of religious believes. Every few years "god tests their faith" and an epidemic breaks out

i bet they live in Friesland  ;D

Actually not. We call it the "bible belt" too and it stretches from the eastern center to the western south of the country.

I have zero tolerance for any of this crap. I can't believe people are so incredibly gullible and pathetically stupid  that they allow their tiny minds to be convinced that such things are real.

Personally, I think the stupid deserve to get ripped off. If you are so mentally challenged that you believe in this horse ---Cleveland steamer--- and then foolish enough to hand over good money to somebody claiming any sort of physic powers, then you get what you deserve.

To me, I dont believe in a  'set'  Fate.     I believe its more like a percentage game.  IE:  If
you keep on that same path... there is a 85% possibility that "this" will happen to you.

Also, being intuitive seemed to be a very uncontrolled thing.   Meaning,  that you didnt
just 'get' things when you wanted.   They may come to you at random.   Also, being that your
own interpretation can get in the way... you can get things wrong.   There are other factors too...
such as the possibility of picking up on alternate realities, or even the wrong time period.
Its very unstable as far as Ive experienced it.

 An example...

My father couldnt care 2 craps about me.  Very selfish, and did his own things.  We rarely
saw each other, and had no real conversations.

One day, I was drawing some stuff in my sketchbook...  then all the sudden,  I believe I heard
a "Thud" and at the very same time, my head felt like it was hit by a phone book.   It didnt move,
but felt like it was hit.   At that exact time,  I heard the word  "Spaghetti"...  Which was
very strange... because I was not hungry, nor thinking about spaghetti.

 I kept on drawing.

3 hours later... The phone rings.   Its my father... which is strange, because he NEVER calls.

"Are you Hungry?"

 Not really.

"Because there is this all you can eat spaghetti dinner...."

Thanks for calling, but Im not really interested.

As he was saying it,  I was laughing inside... cause this sorta thing happened a few
times already.   (The first time did shock me though)

As for getting advice from a so called Psychic... Id say most are frauds.  But even so,
its not a realistic thing to do.  You make your future by your choices.  The future is not truly
set.

Still, even though some are either spewing BS, or at least 'inaccurate' data  ... many times
things said are positive.  Things said that may actually help a person.  Give them confidence.  Give them an idea for thinking or doing things differently.   Also, there is the fact that many of these people are very kind and give out unconditional love.   This alone is very helpful to many.

My first 'reading' was done to me by my friends husband.   A few things that I recall mentioned
had to do with life and Balance.  How important it was, and that I should try to strive for it in all areas of my life.

Another had to do with confidence, and was even a suggestion to take up Martial arts or something similar.

Which I did later do, and it was a life changing event.  Same for the balance comment.  Both
were instrumental in making some very positive changes in my life.

While I will always doubt weather he was truly intuitive... It really doesnt matter if he
was or wasnt.

However, I do not agree with people like seen on that Video clip.  I think most of the real
intuitive's will always claim to be uncertain about what they may be getting.  Never being
absolute certain, and so vocal about it.

BTW look how these things get started. While some people keep clinging to odd conclusions over what is visible in vague video footage. Doesn't matter if it's a nosecone or a witch as in the following clip:

Now look at a clip of the same event where people with binoculars spot it for what it is.:

:edit: cannot get the YouTube link fixed. Guess the flying witch is blocking it. Enter the following link in your browser and then it works. When I put that up as a YouTube tag or url then it doesn't work.

I think I might believe in a sort of mathematical fate or predestination.  Basically, I figure all of our decisions are the result of the neurons in our brains firing in various ways.  Specific neurons are going to fire given specific stimuli no matter what.  So in a way, we only have the illusion of free will.  Any time I appear to have made a choice, it was really foreordained that I would make that choice and could not make any other, because of the specific chemical/physical makeup of my brain.  It's not really a useful way to see things, though, regardless of whether it's true, so I don't really think about it that way.

Yesterday I had to drop something off for work to have it repaired. This involved going geographically close to a place that I used to work 10 years ago. For old times sake I intentionally took a detour on the way back to work and stopped at the set of shops next door to where I was employed. I jumped out and walked into a milk bar and purchased a Chiko Roll, went back to my car and just enjoyed the visuals of the old familiar building I worked at for 8 years. I finished my delicious Australian snack and proceeded to leave.

I pulled out the driveway and drove about 100 meters up the road and there was a HUGE building on what used to be a vacant block of land, when I was close enough I read the name of the company. At that VERY moment over the car radio they say the name of that company, I had tuned out to everything else on the radio but the name got my attention because holly crap, I just read it in my own mind 1 second beforehand!

I don't know what the odds of this happening are, but they must have been huge. I almost never leave my desk at work, I was out driving in an area I hadn't been to in best part of a decade (and have no reason to really ever go there), something made me take the detour and stop for a quick snack.... There are a hundred variables that could have changed and added seconds or minutes to my journey and this amazing thing would never had existed.

To the freak, they would have found meaning in this bizarre event and read all sorts of crap into why and how it happened because the odds were just too insane for it to be a case of simple chance. They would have thought that something very personal in the cosmos must have taken place or read some other nonsense into how this could possibly happen.

To a reasonable individual they would see it for what it was, a pretty cool coincidence involving the mighty Chiko Roll.
