Critique my CPO
« on: April 14, 2008, 06:06:03 am »
This is something I've started putting together for my 'analog' panel. This panel will have a balltop joystick and 3x buttons on the left, trackball where the 'sun' is, and a spinner within the concentric circles on the right.  The positions are not 100% right, and the image is a bit rough round the edges...just looking for comments/suggestions.

I was going to surround the joystick/buttons with some form of box or cordoned off area, but I am thinking about not bothering with that now.  However I am a bit worried that it looks like it is missing something.  What do you think?

Edit: forgot to mention, this is somewhat Space Duel inspired: http://www.arcadeflyers.com/?page=flyer&db=videodb&id=1018&image=1

I like it, and agree with you about not adding any extra graphics around the joystick/buttons.
Simple is sometimes best.

Thanks :) I have finished building the panel this is for now so I think I will get the measurements right, polish this image up a bit and do a paper test run.  I should be able to decide whether I like it for sure with the controls in place.

Just not looking forward to applying the final CPO...getting it all lined up could be tricky!

looks good. I'd just get a real star background and maybe gradient in the other graphics, even if you dont its still nice
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

I am quite keen on keeping the solid colours as Atari seemed to do that a lot and I think it will go well with my other artwork. Also I think a real starfield might not quite fit in.  I agree the stars need some work, I just quickly drew those on.

Thanks for your input :)
