Did anyone ever try the San Fran Rush PC Game?
« on: May 28, 2003, 08:47:49 am »
Once upon a time they released a 3D accellerated version of San Francisco Rush: Rush the Rock for the PC...it was only available if you purchased some 3DFX board (which sucked), and never released generically.  I never recall seeing a review of it, but I was curious...that looks like it would make a great MAMECAB game........

Just curious if anyone had tried this mythical game on the PC side of things.....

I hear that it would only work on that specific 3dfx board also.  Not just any 3dfx board, but that specific brand / version.

So you probably wouldn't put it on an arcade machine even if you had it.  Other then just to play around!

I would LOVE to see someone who is into writing the 3dfx wrappers to see if they could fake it to look like that specific video card... then allow people with real video cards to run it (not at better resolutions or anything... just so we could play other games with a real video card... make sense... or am I rambling?)

Thats what I too vaguely remember...it was one of the first of 3DFX's fusion boards, that were VGA incorporated boards....not just add-ons like the Voodoo and Voodoo 2's were..and I remember they blew hard performance wise.  Still, I love that game on the DC.....sure wish there was a highier-rez PC version.
*sigh*.
